spaceOnce Upon A Universe

Once Upon A Universe is a collaborative project between writers, scientists and performers to develop and communicate stories about the origins of the universe.

Following on from a weekend at the Galloway Astronomy Centre, the Once Upon A Universe website is online now. A publication has been produced and a sell-out performance was given in the Scottish Storytelling Centre in November. More performances and an animation are planned for 2012.

Statistically Speaking

Helen is working on a collection of science-themed short stories that exist in the grey area between fiction and fact. The writing will cover topics from astrophysics, medical science, soft condensed matter, nanotechnology, the philosophy and history science, and the juxtaposition of science and literature.

plantThe Titan Arum

Inspired by the rotting smell of the "corpse flower" in Kew Gardens, this work is currently in a phase of fascinating and odious research. Over the next year, it might become a novel, a collection of stories, a work of non-fiction or a historical account of the discovery of the worlds largest and most foul-smelling plant.
